Scrappy goodness

Summer break is finally here and yet I still feel as though I haven't had a moment to breathe, but I think it's a good thing. I've been spending a lot of time with Travis and my family and catching up on my favorite TV shows along with volunteering at the hospital. I hope to document my summer activities and adventures in the next couple weeks. I hope you are enjoying summer and staying cool!

Easter Sunday: This layout was made for a sketch challenge over at Pretty Little Studio and with their new line, Sand Castle. I'm pretty sure it's my favorite to date. These pictures are from Easter 2012 and the color scheme of Sand Castle is perfect for the pastel colors that are associated with Easter!

ten reasons: I'll be the first to admit I am not the world's best hand stitcher! Even though my lines aren't perfect I really love this layout! Check out all the products I used here.

mLm: is a layout documenting the birth of Travis' first newphew,Mason Mcleod Lowe. I used up left over scraps to layer strips of paper and then punch out circles. The layout is up on the PLS website alone with the materials I used.

waiting for the storm to pass: Here is another layout I made for one of PLS's challenges. The quote couldn't be more fitting for what I needed to hear at this point in my life. I added journaling to a large shipping tag and tucked it behind the title-the focal point of my layout. Head on over to PLS to check out the materials I used on this layout.

Are you seeing a theme with all my recent layouts? Maybe a white background? I didn't even realize it until I uploaded these pictures!

Remember that any time you play along with one of the challenges over at Pretty Little Studio, you are entered into winning a $5 gift certificate!

Below are my projects for Tessa over at Precocious Paper. I found these 3 x 4 notepads (3 for $2 in the clearance section of Target-SCORE!) and was waiting for the perfect opportunity to alter them. Tessa's handmade embellishments are beautiful! The last picture is an altered mint tin turned into a gift card holder. I love that the side of the tin says "Have a blast":)

Precocious Paper 4-year etsy-versary

Welcome to a blog hop to celebrate Tessa and her etsy shop, Precocious Paper's, 4-year Etsy Versary! If you came here from Mindy's blog you are right on track. If you want to start from the beginning head on over to Tessa's blog to see whats goin on!

If you have never heard of Precocious Paper and Tessa you have been missing out! Tessa hand makes the most AMAZING embellishments for whatever your craft project is and I am very honored to be on the design team and to be able to play with her gorgeous goodies!

One of my favorites right now are the For Like Ever Sweet Spots!
I love that all of her embellishments are handmade and the ones that you get are special and unique. I love that these are very versatile and that they add layers and dimension to your projects! Tessa has created a couple different collections of these as well in different color pallets

Here are three different tags I created using the For like ever sweetspots:

For this one I misted the background with White and Shimmer then added confetti. After I stamped a border stamp and cut it out. Add washi tape and a strip of paper. Back the sweet sport with a punched out circle slightly larger than your embellishment and add a banner piece. Add a letter to indicate the first letter of the first name of the recipient of the tag!

To create this tag mist with shimmer and white. Next, add patterned paper diagonally. Punch out 3 starburst circular pieces of paper and cut in half, line 5 up against the paper you glued down. Cut off excess paper and add your favorite sweet spot and a sentiment.

For this tag, add a doily, punched out border and washi. Cut off the excess. Add your sentiment and two favorite sweet spots.

In honor of Precocious Paper's 4 years in business, Tessa is have a sale, ending March 3rd: Buy 3 products for her shop and get the 4th free! This is a GREAT chance to stock up on some of the loveliness she has in her shop! Andddd if you make a purchase you will be entered to win a Shop prize, chosen by Tessa!

Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's day!
I hope you are lucky enough to be surrounded by the ones you love today!
xoxo

Happy Birthday Mama! She is seriously my rock. I don't know what I would do without her. I know she is my mom but I think we are getting to the point where she is becoming more of my best friend. I know I can talk to her about anything and she won't judge me. I love her and I am VERY thankful to have such a loving and caring mom.

This weekend was a long, exhausting one and I am still not fully recovered. It was my brother's first race of the season, the second for Trav. Trav also raced Sunday too!
So on Sunday night/last night Trav showed up at my door with a rose and asked me to be his Valentine. We have been together for a little over 3 years now and it's the little things like this that remind me that I am the luckiest girl around to have someone care about and love me just as much as I care about and love them.

Anyways, I hope your weekend was relaxing and you have a wonderful week!
